Our Story

A classical Christian school in Roseburg, Oregon.

Geneva Academy helps Christian families raise well-educated, godly children. As a classical Christian school, we integrate faith and learning—every subject read through Scripture, preschool through twelfth grade.

Five families founded Geneva Academy in 2007 to reform Christian education in Douglas County. They chose the classical model that has shaped thinkers for 2,500 years, and built a school where teachers know every student’s name.

Our Approach

The trivium: grammar, logic & rhetoric.

Classical education forms a person, not just a test score. Young students master the building blocks of every subject (grammar); older students learn to reason and weigh arguments (logic); and by the upper grades they write and speak with clarity and grace (rhetoric).

Every stage is taught under the authority of Scripture, so knowledge is never separated from wisdom or character. We graduate capable young men and women who love what is good and live faithfully in the world.

What We Endeavor

A distinctive education, six commitments in every classroom.

Integrated under Scripture

Every subject is taught as part of an integrated whole, with the Scripture at the center. 2 Timothy 3:16–17

A Biblical model

A clear model of Biblical Christian life, lived out through our staff and board. Matthew 22:37–40

Faith in Christ

We encourage every child to begin and grow a relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:18–20

A love of learning

We encourage every student to develop a genuine love for learning and to achieve his full academic potential.

An orderly atmosphere

An orderly, joyful atmosphere, conducive to attaining each of these goals together.

Rooted in every subject.

Rooted In Every Subject

Our Name

Post Tenebras Lux Christi

“After darkness, the light of Christ”

Geneva, Switzerland was the heart of the Protestant Reformation. People came from across Europe to study there, then carried that conviction home, bringing Geneva Bibles to a new world and laying the foundations of a Christian civilization, a “city on a hill.”

Our name carries that heritage forward. It speaks to our desire to train a new generation of wise, mature Christians, and the motto on our crest makes our hope unmistakable: that out of darkness comes the light of Christ.
