Geneva Academy (“Geneva Academy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at genevaroseburg.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to information collected through our website, our forms, and our text-messaging (SMS) program.

By using our website or opting in to our communications, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information we need to serve families and operate the school. This may include:

• Contact details you provide, such as your name, email address, mailing address, phone or mobile number, and your child’s grade or age.
• Enrollment and inquiry information you submit through admissions, contact, giving, or event forms.
• Text-messaging information, including your mobile number and your consent to receive messages, when you opt in to our SMS program.
• Usage and device information collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and the referring website (see “Cookies, analytics, and tracking” below).

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to inquiries and process admissions, enrollment, and giving.
• Send school communications you have requested or that relate to your family’s enrollment, including announcements, event and calendar reminders, admissions follow-up, billing and tuition notices, and emergency or weather notifications.
• Send text messages to mobile numbers that have opted in, as described in “Text messaging (SMS)” below.
• Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Text messaging (SMS)

If you provide your mobile number and opt in, Geneva Academy may send you text messages related to the school, such as announcements, event and calendar reminders, admissions and enrollment updates, billing and tuition reminders, and emergency or weather notifications.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of enrollment or of any purchase. You provide express consent by checking the SMS opt-in box on our forms or by otherwise agreeing to receive messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

6. Cookies, analytics, and tracking

10. Children’s privacy

Our website and communications are directed to parents, guardians, and prospective families, not to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through this website. Information about a student is provided by a parent or guardian in connection with inquiry or enrollment. If you believe a child has provided us information without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Student records: COPPA, FERPA, and Oregon law

As a K-12 school, we handle information about students, and several laws shape how we do it. The paragraphs below explain, in plain terms, how those laws apply to Geneva Academy.

COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). Our website is directed to parents and prospective families, not to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Any information we hold about a student is provided by a parent or guardian during inquiry or enrollment. If a child has submitted information without a parent's consent, contact us and we will delete it.

FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act). Once a student is enrolled, the education records we maintain are protected under FERPA. Parents and eligible students have the right to inspect and review those records, to request corrections, and to consent before we disclose personally identifiable information from them, except in the limited cases the law allows, such as sharing with school officials who have a legitimate educational interest. We do not sell student education records, and we do not use them for advertising.

Oregon Student Information Protection Act. Oregon law limits how student personal information collected through online school services may be used. Covered providers may not sell student information or use it to deliver targeted advertising, and they must keep it secure. When we use third-party classroom or administrative tools, we work to choose providers that handle student data consistent with these protections.

California residents. Geneva Academy is a local Oregon school and does not meet the thresholds that make the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) apply to us. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. If that ever changes, we will post a Do Not Sell or Share option and honor Global Privacy Control signals.
