Our Academics

Academics at Geneva Academy, a classical Christian education from K3 through 12th grade in Roseburg, Oregon. Time-tested subjects taught from a Christian worldview through the grammar, logic, and rhetoric stages.

Classical Christian education is a time-tested approach to learning that joins the Christian faith with the best of the classical tradition. At Geneva Academy, we teach every subject, from reading and math to history, science, literature, and the arts, in light of Scripture, so that students learn to think clearly, love what is true and good, and grow into thoughtful, well-spoken adults. It is a K3 preschool through twelfth grade education in Roseburg, Oregon.

An Older Way

What Is Classical Christian Education?

Classical Christian education is the model of learning the church relied on for centuries to form free, faithful, and clear-thinking people. The word education itself comes from Latin and means to train, to mold, to draw out, and to lead forward. The Greeks built the first classical schools around 400 BC to raise young people into virtuous citizens and independent thinkers, in other words, to make them free. When Christ came into the world, Christianity took up this classical inheritance and rebuilt it on a new foundation: the Word of God, where God is the measure of all things rather than man.

This way of teaching built Christian civilization in the West and laid the groundwork for our own country. The American founders were shaped by it. So were the men and women who led the scientific revolution, opposed tyranny, and fought to end slavery. It even carried the gospel to millions around the world.

At Geneva Academy, we teach in that same tradition because it restores what modern schooling set aside. Our students learn to love what is true, beautiful, and good, and to see how every subject, including math and science, connects and points back to Christ. Classical Christian education gives them the ability to think for themselves, to know God and His Word deeply, and to defend the faith with courage and grace.

K3 Through Twelfth Grade
