Preschool K3
The K3 program at Geneva Academy, a loving, orderly, and Godly classroom for three-year-olds. Prayer, play, and the beginnings of literacy and numeracy at a classical Christian school in Roseburg, Oregon.
A Christian preschool for three-year-olds in Roseburg, Oregon. K3 opens the day with prayer and play, and builds the early skills and habits that carry a child into K4.

A loving, orderly, and Godly beginning.
The K3 class is a loving and orderly environment where our caring teacher gives each “little one” individual attention while helping them learn to work with one another. Most importantly, we introduce them to obeying (“right away, all the way, with a cheerful heart!”) a vital part of the grammar of schooling that shapes a child’s formation.
But it is not all work and no play! Children enjoy plenty of time outside in free and energetic play. Every day begins with prayer and singing praise to God from a thankful heart, and each week we gather for chapel to sing together and learn from His Holy Word.
The units we explore.
The K3 class uses the Busy Toddler curriculum, moving through nineteen thematic units across the year, each an invitation to notice, name, and delight in God’s world.

The alphabetic principle
Students develop their alphabetic sense through concrete, kinesthetic, multimodal activities, coloring, cutting, tracing. The whole alphabet is reviewed again and again, making them familiar with the sights and sounds of literacy. And they hear plenty of good oral reading from Godly books, cultivating a love of learning and a desire for good literature.
A first sense of number
Number sense grows through concrete, kinesthetic activities like counting and coloring. Students begin counting 1–5 and advance to 1–12 by the end of the year, while learning to compare and contrast similar and different shapes and quantities.
“K3 doesn’t just teach the ABCs, it teaches the importance of kindness, patience, and God’s love. We are so thankful for this program!”
