The Grammar Stage

The capstone of grammar school.

Sixth grade is the summit of the grammar years. The work grows more rigorous and more independent, preparing students for the questions of the logic stage ahead, while history carries the American story from the Gilded Age to the present day.

6th Grade curriculum.

Bible & Language Arts

Daily Bible, plus penmanship, reading and an in-class reading list, spelling, grammar, and writing.

History & Latin

American history from the Gilded Age to the present, and Latin.

Mathematics & Science

Singapore math, and a survey of chemistry, electricity, magnetism, motion, and astronomy in science.

Music & Art

Choral music by the Kodaly method and studio art in drawing and the great artists.

Physical Education

Twice-weekly physical education, plus field trips, guest speakers, and special events.
